Ohh, so many newborns this time of year. All these baby smells, coos and little eyelashes are starting to make my ovaries ache. ;)

Baby B is 5 days old here, and his mum and dad had just brought him home from the hospital the day before we did his pictures. Fresh out of the oven, this one is. His mama is one of the few people I know who left her baby’s gender a surprise, which I respect enormously- I would never be able to do it! Well, the wait is over- she has a beautiful, gorgeous baby boy. Meet Baby B, a much anticipated, much loved little man.

You can see his mama’s beautiful belly  in my banner up there! My spokes-belly, if you will.

Quick Note: I will be announcing my Holiday Sessions schedule very soon. Mini sessions and regular sessions will be offered, that will include holiday cards and digital files. I’ll also be offering a few surprise products that will knock your festive gift-giving socks off! More on that soon- booking will be very fast for these, so check back often.

Another note: Availability is out to September now, with only a few dates in August left. Consider booking a beach session with me before the holiday rush and impending Fall weather. As always, if you are expecting a newborn, please contact me asap with your due-date.

Big News!

Drumroll PLEASE…..

Mariah M Photography is about to change! Yes, change- quite literally, in fact. Our business name will be changing to simply “Mariah Gale” in the next couple weeks- a sleeker, more palatable title to say than our current 8-syllable mouthful :) Mariah M Photography has carried me thus far, and I will be sad to see it go. However, I think the new name/brand will be absolutely well received. Wouldn’t you rather say “My photographer? Oh, Mariah Gale of course”, when your friends ask who did those fab photos? Absolutely! :)

Why Mariah Gale? Gale is my middle name, and some of you may have guessed it, but I was named after the wind (no, not Mariah Carey). I’ve had folks singing “They Call The Wind Mariah” to me since the day I was born. That combination is close to my heart, and, I feel, a reflection of my identity and creative style as a photographer. Not to mention 4 syllables less to say!

I will be unveiling our new branding (don’t worry, the pink square may not go), and our new logo in the next couple weeks. I’m working with a fabulous designer, Lisa Reichman, that I feel confident will take my brand in the direction that the company is headed- toward style, modernity, dependability, and fun!

I have two projects I’m looking for models for!

1) I’m currently looking for children between the ages of 3 and 10 to work on photographically creative projects. I have some creative ideas for kids’ shoots that just need to be put into action! I will travel up to 20 miles outside of 01950 to conduct your mini session (up to 1 hour), and all images (in digital file form) and session fees will be complimentary. Outfits and location must be approved by Mariah. Siblings are preferable. The shooting dates will be from July 1st through 4th. If interested, please contact Mariah with date and time available, and a photo of your little models (children do NOT have to be professional models!).

2) I’m looking for up to three last-minute models for a shoot Tuesday night (June 17th), at 5pm. I’m working on a project with the owner of the new local kids’ clothing store “Recess”, and will be shooting the decor and marketing images for their store walls and displays! Kids must be between the ages of 2 and 10, and wear brightly colored clothing with accessories and layers. All images (in digital file form) will be complimentary. This shoot will involve playing on playground equipment locally (around 01950). If interested, please contact Mariah with a photo!

I am now writing to you from one of these babies! And yes, it’s absolutely fantastic. I feel like I’m sitting in the front row of a movie theater with my 24″ monitor, and my Photoshop runs like a dream. For all of you tech people out there, I ended up going with (after much debate) the 2.8 GHz processor, 4GB RAM, and a 500 Hard Drive, which will be updated soon to a 750. And I couldn’t be happier. All of my images and software have been transferred, and now I’m playing catch-up. Thanks for all your patience and understanding!

 

In other news, I’ve recently teamed up with Boston Mamas , a blog-based website geared towards the hardworking Moms of the Boston area. Mariah M Photography is one of their featured vendors, and we’ll be gearing up for a special surprise giveaway in July, so make sure to look out for that! It’s a fabulous site, with everything you could possibly imagine- from parenting tips and tricks to local kids’ clothing buys. Go check them out!

- We now have only one Saturday left open in May. A couple Fridays and Sundays (the most popular choices for sessions are weekend days) are still left, so if you’d like to reserve a spot for the next month, feel free to contact us.
